Product Types
Product Types are used to define products built on the Bill of Materials (BOM) page. At Blue Kollar, we offer a wide variety of pre-made product types to choose from. Additionally, we provide the flexibility to create custom product types based on your specific needs. These product types are carefully curated to align with the modules that you, as a valued Tenant, select. Please find below a comprehensive list of product types and their corresponding modules.
Printing Module:
- Card
- Deck Board
- Digital
- Folder
- Tray Board
- Tray Card
Production Module:
- Custom Product Type
Samples Module:
- Soft Swatch
- Hard Swatch
The Product Type Search page provides the ability to search for existing product types. You can learn more about Blue Kollar search pages by visiting the KB article for Search Pages.
Search Criteria
- The full, or partial, name of the product type being searched for.
- Allow previously removed product types to be shown in results
Creating a New Product Type
- To create a new product type navigate to the Product Type Admin page.
- Press the "+New" button on the upper right hand side of the page header.
- Input a name for the Product type and press save.
Adding Groups / Inputs to Product Types
- To add a group to a product type, press the "+Add Group" button on the page header.
- After the group is added, a name input field will be shown. It is important to note that this input is required and cannot be left empty.
- To add an input to a group, press the "+Add Input" button in the top right corner of the group header.
- This will insert a new input row under the group you want the input in.
Input Types
- The available input types are:
- String
- Number
- Date
- Time
- Autocomplete
- Select
- Yes/No
- Each Input Type will have 5 default inputs before specifying which input type you need. They also have two switches. These inputs are:
- Name - The name of the input.
- Input Type - The input type you want the input to be.
- Input Size - The size of the input. See more information on input sizes below.
- Abbreviation - An abbreviated version of the input name.
- Tooltip - An info icon next to the input name to describe what the input is for.
The switches are:
- Begins New Row - This switch puts the specified input on a new row.
- Required - This switch makes the specified input required.
Input Sizes:
There are four input sizes to choose from. Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large.
- Small - The smallest size available. This input size will have a column size of 2, which means you can fit 6 of them in one row.

- Medium - The second smallest size. This input size has a column size of 4, which means you can fit 3 of them in a row. Two Small inputs will equal the size of one medium input.

- Large - This input size has a column size of 8, which means you can fit 1 of them in a row. Two Medium inputs will equal one Large input.

- Extra Large - This is the largest available size. It has a column size of 12, which means you can only fit one of them in a row. This size will take the whole row. One large input and one medium input will equal one extra large input.

String:
- This input type can be for any value, mainly word values.
- The string input type has 3 inputs that can be specified that are different from the other input types. These inputs are:
- Input Rows - This input allows the size of the text box to grow depending on the number value.
- Min Length - This input is to not allow the value to be less than the specified character length.
- Max Length - This input is to not allow the value to be greater than the specified character length.
Number:
- This input type is for integer values.
- The number input type has 3 inputs that can be specified that are different from other input types. These inputs are:
- Precision - This input determines the decimal places that can be added to the number value.
- Min Value - This input is to not allow the value to be less than the specified number value.
- Max Value - This input is to not allow the value to be greater than the specified number value.
Date:
- This input type is for specifying a date.
Time:
- This input type is for specifying a time.
Autocomplete:
- This input type is for creating a searchable list.
- The autocomplete input has 1 input that is specific to this type. This input is:
- Input Options - This input allows for a list of options to be created.
Select:
- This input type creates a list.
- The select input type also has one extra input:
- Input Options - This input allows for a list of options to be created.
Yes/No:
- This input type will create a switch.
Removing Groups / Inputs
- To remove a Group, press the action menu then press remove.
NOTE: Removing a group will also remove any inputs associated with that group. Removing is final and cannot be undone.
- To remove an Input, press the action menu then press remove.
NOTE: Removing an input is final and cannot be undone.
Collapsible Groups / Inputs
- Groups and Inputs are collapsible and can be collapsed and un-collapsed by pressing the "caret" icon next to the group name or the input name.
Draggable Inputs
- Inputs can be rearranged by dragging and dropping them in a different order.
- Inputs can not currently be dragged into another group.
